How To Increase Page Views On Your Website
When you look at your web stats and see that people are visiting your main page or landing page, but aren’t going any deeper into your website, something is wrong. It is important to find unique ways to get people clicking your links and visiting the other pages within your website.
One way is to use the “click here for more” technique. If you offer articles, news or other information, a good way to get your visits clicking deeper is to give a paragraph or two and then add in a “more” link for them to click to keep reading.
Another method is to offer related information or product links within or at the end of your article, post or page. There are programs that will help you automate this, but you can manually add in relative links as well.
Top lists are an old, tried and true method that offers your visitors useful information or links within your own site. Again, you can build a top 10 or 20 list manually or use a plug-in or other program to do it for you based upon keyword relevance, popularity or other criteria.
Finally, offer a search function on all your pages. Inviting users to search for more information will help get them to view other pages that are deep within your site, increasing the value of your website and encouraging bookmarking and return visits in the future.
